Shop for all the items you need to really bring down the competition! The modern GT500 is the rebirth of one of the most coveted automobiles of all time. Bursting back on the scene in 2007, the new Shelby was built in Mustang’s fifth generation, or S197, platform. This beast continues to evolve and erase competitors. Leaving the factory with more horsepower than others, this machine is highly modifiable and owners have even pushed them over the 1000 horsepower mark!

2007 GT500 - This is the premier year for the modern Shelby. The 2007 GT500 Mustang Shelby features a supercharged 5.4L V8 iron block engine with aluminum cylinder heads. This DOHC motor pumps out an astounding 475 horsepower from Ford; forever raising the bar on factory performance! The 6-speed Tremec transmission delivers the ultimate in driving and control. While going fast is fun, it is also important to stop in time, so Ford included massive 14” Brembo vented disc brakes and aluminum 4-piston calipers up front; then added 11” vented disc brakes with 2-piston calipers on the rear.

2008-2009 - GT500 These years had all the same drool worthy features, with a slight variation of the crankshaft balancer, also referred to as the dampener or harmonic balancer. Ford upgraded to a much lighter, 9.7lbs balancer starting in 2008; this is less than half of the weight of 2007’s 22lbs lug.

2010 GT500 - In 2010 a newer, sleeker body style caught the eyes of many muscle car enthusiasts. Once it was debuted, it became the most powerful SVT tuned Mustang (until the next year that is!). The upgraded iron block pushed out a mind blowing 540 horsepower rating, and 510 ft. lb. of torque! It also had a conical air filter, upgraded from the previous flat, closed version, an upgraded clutch, and newly redesigned exhaust.

2011-2012 GT500 - Starting in 2011, Ford decided to use an all-aluminum block and heads in the Shelby. They kept the same displacement and DOHC design on the 5.4L and the car had 10 more horsepower than the previous year. Another notable change is the new electronic steering system that eliminated the need for the use of a power steering pump. The exhaust was also once again redesigned. Buyers had the option to purchase the SVTPP pack, which is a handling package.

2013 GT500 - This much anticipated GT500 is going to blow the doors off anything currently on the road. Ford is giving it an extremely powerful 650hp 5.8L make over, and then coupling it with new electronics, launch control, and all the 2012 upgrades and options.
